Typically, yes. Our model at GapConnect is designed around the concept of an annual turnover to maximize the benefits of the gap year experience—for both the students and your practice. We have observed that gap year positions running from the beginning of June to the end of the following June offer the most successful outcomes. This time frame allows for approximately 2-3 weeks of overlap with the incoming gap year student and the current hire, allowing a nice transition and training period. However, should a candidate decide to extend their gap year or take more than one with a postbac program , there is flexibility.
